Emarsys goes WhatsApp: Emarsys WhatsApp integration is now available!

At Chatarmin, we faced challenges for a long time when integrating Emarsys with WhatsApp. The complexity arose from the Emarsys API, which was burdened with legacy and proved to be a less straightforward integration. Despite these hurdles, we were determined to give the 3,000 global companies that use the Emarsys eCommerce marketing platform the opportunity to seamlessly connect with the world's most downloaded app and most used messenger.

Connect integration

First, navigate in Emarsys in the sidebar to Management -> Security Settings -> API Users and click on “Create API User”:

Next, copy the username & secret to the Chatarmin integration page:

Updating Emarsys properties in the Chatarmin flow

Here you can learn how to add properties to your Emarsys account. We can automatically add properties to an Emarsys account based on the user's behavior. Depending on which branch of the workflow the user goes through, we can update the Emarsys profile with a property that we have defined.

You can also add a user directly to an Emarsys list based on user activity.

Using Emarsys segments and lists

You can use the Emarsys information you have about your customers to create specific segments. These segments can later be used to perform splits in flows via if/else splits or to send campaigns to specific user cohorts. This way, you can create a list or segment or use an existing segment in Klaviyo with your existing data and retrieve the segment in Chatarmin.

  2. Transfer your Emarsys API key to Chatarmin
  3. Navigate to the “API Keys” section in your Emarsys account.
  4. Initiate the creation of a new journey.
  5. Assign a name to your key that matches your naming conventions. This ensures a clear understanding of each webhook that is triggered for bridging the Emarsys WhatsApp integration.
  6. Copy the generated key to your clipboard.
  7. Paste this Emarsys API key into the custom API webhook trigger of Chatarmin.
