We at Chatarmin have fought hard to integrate Mailchimp with WhatsApp - why? Mailchimp’s API carries a lot of legacy baggage and, to put it mildly, was not exactly easy to integrate. However, we didn’t want to leave the 14 million businesses worldwide that use Mailchimp without the possibility of integrating into the world’s most downloaded app and the most-used messenger. With pride, we finally present: The Mailchimp WhatsApp Integration powered by Chatarmin. Test our Chatarmin Mailchimp WhatsApp Integration and let us explain in this article how it works.

Mailchimp for WhatsApp: Fully Leveraging the Mailchimp API
To fully utilize your Mailchimp WhatsApp integration, you need to be aware of the Mailchimp API in its entirety. Here’s what we’re building for you, so you can re-engage inactive or non-engaged community members via WhatsApp once their email KPIs decline.
By working with Mailchimp Webhooks, we can trigger WhatsApp automations with any of the following Mailchimp events in your Mailchimp email marketing account. Please be aware that by this point, we’ve already helped you create your custom WhatsApp automations long ago.
WhatsApp for Mailchimp! Chatarmin delivers what you’ve been waiting for.
The following events can be retrieved by Chatarmin to trigger WhatsApp automations based on your Mailchimp leads' activity:
Event Types: Message event webhooks can be triggered by various types of events:
Sent: Message was successfully sent.
Opened: Recipient opened a message; occurs only if open tracking is enabled.
Clicked: Recipient clicked on a link in a message; occurs only if click tracking is enabled. Note that we can also filter by "clicked" in an if/else and thus also target unclicked links.
Delivery: The message received a response from the recipient's mail server indicating successful delivery.
Delayed: The message was sent, but the receiving server indicated that the mail was being delivered too quickly, and Mailchimp Transactional should slow down the sending temporarily.
Marked as spam: The recipient marked a message as spam; besides "delayed" and "delivered but not opened or clicked and bounced as well as rejected," this is your invitation to re-engage Mailchimp contacts via WhatsApp through Chatarmin.
Bounced/Soft-bounced: Message was hard bounced.
Unsubscribed: Recipient unsubscribed; send them a sunset flow via WhatsApp.
Rejected: Message was rejected.
