What is Meta Pixel?

Instructions for WhatsApp and Meta Pixel integration

First, open your Business Manager and navigate to “Data Sources” -> “Data Sets” -> “Select your pixels” -> Click on “Open in Event Manager”

Once you are in the Event Manager, make sure you have selected the correct pixel.

Then you can navigate to Settings -> scroll down to “Generate Access Token” -> Copy Access Token & Pixel ID to Chatarmin

Now navigate to a flow of your choice and create a new flow action -> pixel -> Enter the required fields:

  1. Event Name: The name of the conversion event, e.g.: WhatsApp Welcome
  2. Custom Properties: Here you can add custom properties such as “Flow Name” to your event

To avoid errors or problems, we advise you to first check whether your meta pixel is counting and recording exactly what you want to collect for support or marketing and sales.

You can do this testing after adding the meta pixel to your landing page by installing Pixel Helper in your browser. Errors or warnings after implementing the pixel code are recorded there.

Check the green dot

To indicate that the meta pixel is now running, you can check for activation in the event manager in your Facebook advertising account. When the green dot appears next to your pixel, the data is being collected.

You can test conversion events by filling out a form yourself that is being tracked or by clicking a button on your website. The event manager should immediately show you that this action has been tracked and recorded.

Requirements for using Meta Pixels:

To use Meta Pixel successfully and have all the analytics available for future campaigns, you will of course need a Facebook or Meta Business Manager account.

There you will find, under the item Data Sources, your Meta Pixel ID for further use and tracking of all events.

Also, check with your data protection officer again to see what the current legal situation is for using Meta Pixels.
