Chatarmin handles WhatsApp communication, while Braze remains the platform for your wider customer engagement. The integration keeps WhatsApp customer data in Chatarmin aligned with profiles, segments and campaigns in Braze.
When a contact changes in Chatarmin, the integration can update the matching Braze profile. That covers WhatsApp consent in the attribute of your choice (default: chatarmin_whatsapp), tags in Chatarmin_Tags, the tag count in Chatarmin_Tag_Count, custom properties with the chatarmin_ prefix, the birthday in chatarmin_birthday, plus first name, last name, email address and phone number in the standard fields. Chatarmin also sends two events: "Chatarmin - Flow enrolled" when a contact enters a flow, and "Chatarmin - Updated Profile" when Chatarmin syncs or updates the profile. Contact changes reach Braze shortly after they happen in Chatarmin.
Chatarmin loads the segment list and the attributes from your Braze account. You use the segments in the segment builder and in the Braze Segments if/else condition, and the attributes in the Braze Properties condition and the Update Braze Properties action. If Braze holds a name or email address that is missing in Chatarmin, Chatarmin can use that information. Braze can also start a Chatarmin flow itself: a webhook from Braze, for example from a Canvas, triggers the flow as long as it contains the customer details.
Chatarmin matches profiles using the contact's phone number, email address or external ID. Keep one Braze profile per Chatarmin contact and merge old or test duplicates in Braze, so every match stays unambiguous.
In Braze you create a REST API key under Settings, APIs and Identifiers with six permissions: users.track, users.export.ids, users.identify, users.export.segment, segments.list and custom_attributes.get. In Chatarmin you go to Integrations, Braze and enter the key and the REST endpoint of your Braze instance, for example https://rest.fra-02.braze.eu for Braze EU. You then choose whether WhatsApp consent is synced automatically. You usually do not need a developer for this.
