The waterdrop® Story

waterdrop® is the world's first microdrink manufacturer. The Vienna-based company sells sugar-free drink cubes in over 30 countries, operates more than 40 of its own stores, and employs around 400 people. In retail, you'll find waterdrop® at Rossmann, REWE, Edeka, and Müller. The D2C business via the brand's own online store is strong. But in CRM, a channel that truly performs was missing. Email delivers reach but lands more and more often in the promotions tab. Open rates are falling. The direct line to the customer is missing. waterdrop® wanted a channel where campaigns land and drive revenue. The choice fell on WhatsApp.

How was the campaign structured?

waterdrop® had a clear goal in March: run two sales campaigns within 24 hours via WhatsApp. High reach, high conversion, low cost per message.


Campaign 1

Campaign 1 went out in the morning to 18,833 WhatsApp subscribers. High-converting message with direct link to the store and a clear call to action. This message opened the 24-hour conversation window at Meta for each recipient.

Campaign 2

Campaign 2 followed the same day. Second offer, same recipients. Because the conversation window was already open, no additional Meta costs applied to the second message.
