Tales and Tails is a pet food and beverage manufacturing company. It wanted to expand its marketing to other platforms and decided to experiment with WhatsApp marketing to improve its sales while gathering customer emails for its email marketing strategy.

The State of Things

Tales and Tails had never tried WhatsApp marketing before. They did not have an existing WhatsApp community and wanted to build one to support their marketing efforts. Our goal was to build a comprehensive WhatsApp list and gather as much valuable insight as possible into the target audience.

What We Did

We implemented a welcome flow strategy via email, with a chance for customers to win a €10 discount if they clicked the link to join the WhatsApp community. Once clicked, we asked customers to share their email addresses, pet names, and birthdays so we could gather more insight into who our customers are and have enough information to target them effectively on WhatsApp. Once customers provided all the necessary information, they were given the discount code to shop on the site.

The welcome flow brought in €46K worth of sales from a €267.45 WA spend, depicting a whopping 172X ROWAS. We recorded 3949 enrollments and €11.69 revenue per enrollment. Thanks to the welcome flow's huge success, Tales and Tails has recorded over €135K in sales via WhatsApp in just 8 months! The campaign has also recorded over 29,000 new WhatsApp subscribers in this time. Talk about a massive return on investment.

We also scored heavily in the lead enrichment department. The information gathered during the welcome flow will help us curate our marketing efforts to target users more efficiently. This information is also very important for Klaviyo sync.
